Being a student over Christmas can be extremely hard. There is always that underlying pressure and stress to get work done for school and for revision.
I have mock exams in January, and even though they don’t count towards anything, I still want to do well so I know where I am at and whether my revision has paid off or not. Doing well in these exams will set me in a good mindset for my actual exams which start in May.
Here are my key tips for revising over the Christmas holidays while still balancing time with family and friends:
- Never underestimate the power of a revision timetable. Plan your time in a way that works for you (I can do another post on the different ways of timetabling if needed). And make sure that you block out days for no revision. Just a break. This can be on those days that you have plans and on the days that are key to spend with your family (Christmas and Boxing day)
- Don’t stress and make sure to carry out self-care. It’s easier said than done, I know, but if you start feeling stressed DON’T CARRY ON. Take a break and carry out some self-care. Have a bath with bath bombs and bubble bath and then get out and read a book or watch some Netflix. (Again, another post can be on this if you wish)
- Make sure to make the time you do have productive. Minimise distractions by turning off your phone. Make your room cosy and get down to business. To do lists always help me to be productive and motivated
Anyway, I hope this has helped those of you who do plan to revise over Christmas. Any questions, then please ask. Any suggestions on post, please state 🙂
